Ebay HP

Just got this resistor thing i ordered off ebay. You plug it into the IAT sensor and it tells the ECU that the air is 60 degrees so the ECU changes the Air to Fule ratio. I thought i would try it it was only 6 bucks! So today i put it in and DANG, this thing works! I put it in right off i can tell somthing is a little different! I go on this backroad near my house and try it ou a few times. I couldnt believe it worked i can feel a difference! Im just hopin that its not gonna mes anything up. I only tried it once wanted to get some opinions from u guys on it, and if u think its safe? After all it was only 6 bucks i dont care if i have to take it off!

I would not use it.

The IAT sensor is very important when calculating fuel ratios and timing curves. This is because of simply chemistry; fuel and spark are constants in the equation. Air is the biggest variable in combustion; it changes density greatly over a range of temperature. So keeping track of the changing temperatures of the incoming air and the engine in which it is burnt becomes very important.

The reason you feel a difference is b/c cooler air is usually more dense and the computer can lean out the a/f ratio. By doing this you run a chance of actually burning the motor up if you run it too lean for too long. Not a good idea IMO.

yea i took it out today after realizing that it makes my blinker blink fast! It has never done it before and i get in my car today to go to work and i turn on my blinker and it dose that annoying fast blinker thing. So when i get home i take it out go drive it alittle and it stoped its really weird. I dont know how that effected the blinker but it obviously did. So its no big deal just 6 bucks.

if it thinks the air is cooler and therefore denser, i though it would be rich? i thouht it would add fuel to compensate for the 'extra' air. or am i reversing something here.

i dont know, but I don't think its a good idea to lie to your computer. it needs the info from the sensors to keep your car running safely and effeicently, I would think lying to your computer could lead to costly repairs. I used it for a couple of days on my 4 banger and it ran bad til it warmed up

Don't use it. It will cause detonation in your motor.
