did i hurt my car??

ok, i took my car to get detailed today and when i came to pick it back up and i was backing out of the parking lot i threw it in reverse....and it didnt move, i thought to myself.."well thats strange.." so i gave it some gas(not too much but some) and i move back about 3-4 feet, but slowly. so i threw it in drive to see if it was just reverse that was messed up...i gave it some gas and i moved up about 2 feet and it felt the same as backing up..so i put it in park and i noticed the E-brake was on...(doh!) anyways...do you think i messed anything up?? ex. the brakes, transmission?

i know people go drifting but they usually have front wheel drive but my mustang doesnt (obviously)

is it a five speed or an auto... if its a five speed a clight amount of clutch wear will be present to... other then that your brake pads are gonna show a bit of wear... hardly noticable amount tho... but if you ask some female drivers about 3 in 10 will say they have done it ... guys probably 2 in 10

so don't worry people do it... it happens

Wait, doesn't the ebrake only lock the front wheels?

and trueballerisme it's never really that good to burn out because you wear your tires out fast but braketorquing you're also wearing your brakes just don't do it often and if you want to brun out hit brake and gas at same time but once you get your tires spining fast let off the brake completely and you will still be burning out and not wearing your brake pads.

it looks the back ones

your wearing brakes and tires and putting strain on your tranny... cuz normally its the weakest point in the drive line

My bros friend has a cobra 03 and he does the braketorque and does the biggest burn out ever and he has a nice car so i'm assuming that he's not really hurting it.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that all of the aformentioned questions and/or statements are NOT good for your vehicle. It's not going to hurt it once (or shouldn't). As far as tranny...the new mustangs have t-5 trannies, they are good (although mine was replaced with only 3k miles on my car - LONG STORY). Also, red lining your car isn't THAT bad. Just don't leave it in the red line, and don't try to see how far into red line it will go....just blip it and then shift. And as long as the car is bone stock...the computer won't let you do anything that could really devistate your vehicle. Automatic trannies also won't let you into extreme red line territory.

unless you gunned it hard you didnt hurt it much... if you "felt a difference in stopping power" it was all in your head... and for everyone else you dont have to hit the redline to hurt your engine... high rpms in general hurt your engine... and no matter how professional or how much you know about cars doing a burn out will ALWAYS hurt your car in several ways... i suggest not doing it at all.. and drift cars dont have front wheel drive... they have rearwheel.. front wheel drive cars generally dont drift ever.
