Lack of Parts

So, I hate to ask this, but my fellow 99-04 new edge owners concerned that aftermarket parts will dry up for us? I have seen several items on sites like americanmuscle and rpmoutlet that were once offered for sale are now no longer on the site. So, are the parts drying up, companies switching to the newer 4.0L, or do these sites just suck and are others better?

I bought my mach 1 chin lip from AM and had intended to continue doing business with them. So, I was just curious.

Ford discontinued the Mach 1 Chin Spoiler a couple years back... They are hard to come by now-a-days. It isn't the retailer's fault.

I wasn't trying to slam on the sites. I was more so asking because I didn't want to get really into modding my car and then have to put the brakes on because parts become impossible to find.

Yeah, but my concern was directed toward the fact that the consumer demand for performance parts for our 3.8/3.9Ls is not as high as the demand for fox or classics. You are right that these parts do exist even though they are not the current models I was just thinking about it from a business mindset.

There is actually a growing aftermarket (in the past couple of years) surrounding the Ford essex engines (3.8/3.9/4.2/4.3). With races such as the Ford V6 Challenge series, manufacturers and consumers meet, race, and conduct business semi-annually. The aftermarket for the essex line will only stall, not decline, at current trends.

Many parts are universal between models, however. Say you turbo your car and need added fuel delivery; the v6 and GT/Cobra/etc. all can use the same fuel injectors...

Well, I'm just getting started so things that I'm going to consider a specialty item (turbo or superchargers) are not really where my concern is at this point. I was actually more concerned about your simple bolts ons like:

Cold air
mass air flow
throttle body
throttle body spacer
Pulleys
exhaust
turners
headers
gears and t-lok for 7.5
shift kits
etc.

These are where I am going to start so that is where my concern lies. I'm intending to stay N/A or perhaps consider Nitrous if I make the car a track car. I'm pretty sure that Nitrous is illegal on the streets.

But, it sounds like I don't have anything to worry about.

Comp Cams just came out with rockers for us....

COMP CAMS is a pretty big name and if they are doing rockers for us must mean we're getting somebodys attention.

You only should stay away from CAIs if you plan to supercharge or turbocharge as they will not work together.

True. And it may seem like it's drying up, but you just have to know where to find the parts. Most of the stuff on your list is easy to find for the most part.

And 6er, did you mean to put Rengence on your sig? lol just curious
