1998 V6 Gauge cluster???

I recently bought a gauge cluster off Ebay and was doing research on how to install it and people keep saying when you swap it that it wont start because of some PATS shit is this true for 94-98 models? Or is it just the 99+ ones that do that?

Its true, but as long as you dont turn the car on or have the negative terminal connected that should be fine.

So what he is saying is that if I don't have the negative terminal connected while doing the swap that I wont have any issue with that gay PATS??

Also I found this link and he said he had no problems with the swap

That's what I was asking fastpony. I just want to make sure you have crystal clear instructions before attempting the swap. The last thing we want is for you to put the car in limp mode trying to do such a simple swap. Let's see if fastpony can clear up his earlier post a bit.

Ok I put the gauge cluster in and it worked the pats did not give me problems with starting it, All the gauges seem to work BUT the temp gauge which is bottomed out below HOT and my gas gauge shows less gas then what I have in it. And I think the oil pressure gauge is not 100% but I don't give a shit about that I am just happy that the speedo is accurate now and I have lower miles hahaha. But back on topic I need help/advise with the temp and gas gauge, is there anything I am suppose to do any thing I can try to make it work?????
Any help is a appreciated.
