mach 460 system

I need the door tweeters... Anyone have stock ones they want to sell, or anywhere I can get new ones. The ones on ebay are all scratched and shit, and just look beat...

Im not really too worried about price as long as it is worth it, I mean the rest of my audio is stock so I dont want to get rediculously expensive ones just yet until I get the rest of everything going too...

if the rest of your car is stock and you really want them just go with something light lightning audio they are cheap and sound good now if your going with a nice system I would go with something like JL audio

alright thanks. Well could I just go with the better model for now and then put everything else together, or would it not be worth it until I put my amp in and headunit and whatnot?

umm well the lighting ones are like 20-30 bucks, but if you are going for a good setup and have the cash go ahead and get the JL audio ones.

Do you have wires run to that space already?...So you're just missing the speakers but they "WERE" there at one time right?

If so and you go with aftermarket ones go ahead and get 2 "ADAPTER WIRES"
They wont cost more than a few bucks and most places will just throw them in if you ASK and they have them.....

What this is, is 2 wires with a weird looking prong on one end and normal speaker prongs on the other....

The factory system will have a weird prong in that hole where the speaker was, this way you connect your adapters wires weird prong to the stock weird prong and then connect the other end of the adapter wires to the speaker as normal...That way you dont have to cut and splice any wires which is always the worst way of doing it if you dont have adapters..

IMHO I only go to AUDIO SHOPS, because that dude at best buy it's just a retail job to him AND the salesman you're talking to IS USUALLY NOT the installer so add more people to the mix and you have explain your situatuation 5 times and hope it gets done right...whereas an audio shop THAT is what they DO...

GO TO a local audio shop and the first thing you say is I havea a mustang with the MACH 460 system and I need the top door tweeters (4' round highs)...THIS is because we have weird wiring with our 460 systems and some places (atleast in my town) hate dealing with all the headache of the mach 460 system....

good luck...I've been planning on upgrading my whole system and after 2 months I'm no closer to even getting started...lol...and I've talked to every audio shop in town so far...I'm just not getting the info/answers that I want as of yet to my weird questions/vision...

Hey, I bought a pair of those Mach 460 door tweeters, the triangular ones that go up by the mirrors and they don't fit on my car.

Are they made to only fit Mustangs that come with the Mach 460 system? The slot where they should slide into on the door panel is way too small.

I'll sell you mine, they're in really good condition, I bought them right before Christmas and since they didn't fit my car, they've just been sitting in the box until I list them on eBay.
