Our cranks are indestructible...
And our rods are too until about 350rwhp...
And a m90 on a 99+ is a pointless waste of time...

Ok, I won't argue the crank and rods because it's what I was hoping to find out. Sounds good. Why such a bold statement about the M90? How much WHP are M90 Mustangs putting out, and what would it take to get there with an NA engine? How do the power curves compare?

I'm pretty sure there aren't any 99-04 mustangs running M90's because in order to run one. You would have to revert to a single port setup which means you would loose a little less power than you would make with the M90 or M112 setup. So you'd be better off either swapping to a 96-98 Windstar intake which will give you about 15wtq/8whp on a stock motor or a cut-n-weld F-150 4.2L Intake.

Mine Is a single port 1995..Ive never seen the split port models but I assume that the Split ports run a different upper ,lower intake and heads along with TB TPS EGR ect ect ect and such..so doing a swap involves swapping the whole top-end if your doing it to a 95?

Because then it takes a boat load of boost to get to even 400hp, and its not going to happen with an m90 you need an mpx blower. You would be better buying a vortech and intercooling it, or a procharger kit, or an m112 kit...

or if you could get andy to make you turbo kit.

I want to turbo it, but the owner doesn't. If it were my Mustang, it would have a V8 swap with a supercharger and twin turbos.

The one thing that keeps me thinking about the M90 is that I have 2 of them already and can get a third very easily. The thing is that the M90s I have are not for Ford SC coupes, so maybe I will need to have a machine shop fix this up for me.

However, some LT headers are almost here. Let's abruptly change this thread to discussing cats, O2 sensors, MIL eliminators, and exhaust routing. A couple posts should take care of that, and I'll provide pics of the install. Then we can go right back to superchargers.

The underlined is pointless. The m90 is pointless. Just get an m112 kit for 2500$ and be happy with life.

It was just a hypothetical. $2500 is too cheap for a dream setup. Actually, my dream setup would be something in a Bonneville, but that's probably getting off topic.

What about your friends dream setup. It is his car right? If your doing all this work for him he best be at the very least, providing plenty of beer.

The friend's dream setup is a supercharged Mustang, I'm aware. I think he wants a 5.0 V8, but he read here it's easier to buy another Mustang instead. I disagree, but maybe there's a catch or something. No free beer yet... Mike, if you're reading this, Negra Modello.

Go catless. Take the money saved from the cats and the elim's and buy an xcal3. Use the tuner to turn off the rears.

Sounds good. That's actually exactly what I was thinking. My friend is making all the buying decisions, so I'll let him choose. You should note that the XCAL3 is much more expensive than the MIL eliminators, but then those may not work forever.

The issue is with moving to a state that has emissions testing. How do most states test? Just by plugging checking for no error codes concerning cat removal and doing a visual inspection? Which states sniff the exhaust? How does an absolutely stock Mustang do in emissions testing where exhaust is sniffed?
