8.8 Rear end (What Factory cars have it)

I was wondering what all models ford put the 8.8 in I have a friend whose dad owns a junk yard and he can give me a good price on a rear end and since I am already getting gears I was wondering what all cars came with it (especially trucks if any)

i know the GTs have them, not all but i think its the sn95 models and up that have em.
n i think the f-150 has it too

what exactly does an 8.8" rear end do for you? I'm sorry if i sound like a complete idiot. v6's come with a 7.5" right?

It lets you handle alot more power...And if you can get the whole assembly you can get t-loc at the same time...

If I was you try I would find a 99-04 rear end for sale...

Find a nice crown vic. They have 8.8's in them. Lincoln's also. You will have to do alot of fabrication if you get one from anything other than a sn95^ body style mustang and even then you will have to do some minor fab to the upper mounts to get that to fit.

Actually he would ahve to get them from a 99-04 becuase the SN95's have shorter axles or housings...I dont know about the crown vics on what years will work in place of the "New Edge" rear-end...

All Fords with v8 will have the 8.8 rearend and larger v8 will have the 9". The 9" is the std. in drag racing,so they can handle large HP.

I myself run a 9 inch on my Mustang2. It is used more than any axle in the business. Yes even on chevy's.

He just wants an 8.8 he does not need a 9 inch...

You can use a rear-end out of a 99-04 GT i know...Possibly a crown vic or grand marquis as well...Not sure on that though...

I dont know if the 8.8's in the vcs and marquis are the same size as the mustangs though...I know the rear-ends tubes or axles changed with each mew body style of mustang...

I will be home by the end of the month...

We definately need to ahve a party when I get back...My fiance is planning one of the 10th of Feb...But i am going to plan one that involves at least 1 keg...You will see a post on it...But I will ahve to check you id...lol...j/k

im 90% sure that they dont make the f-150s or like 90s+ f-150s with a 7.5 rear axle

ive found little things but its not 100% sure stuff
ive been lookin for lik 30 min man..

all f150's from 86 on have the 8.8. I assume you just want to rob the gears out of it? If so, Some 4x4's and some Explorer sport trac 4x4's usually have 4.10's. Most other Explorer's have either 3.55 or 3,73 gears.

No I just need the rear end but a good condition rear end on a 99-04 GT is hard to find around here. I have the gears already I just wanna go ahead and get the rear end since I can get it for like 300 delivered to my house. But yeah thanks for your help guys I'll probably just wait for a 99-04 GT to come through.
