HL Condensation...

Could someone please give me the most risk-less way of getting the condensation out of a headlight? My drivers side is gettin pretty bad

I heard something about putting them in the oven, but knowing me I'll melt it lol... any exact instructions on how to get them out? Thanks=]

you could drill small holes into the back of it and pray for a sunny day. Other then that an oven is your other choice. Or just replace them.

Do NOT drill holes in your headlights, you do that and you will have condensation from now on. You can take your headlights completely apart by removing all the bulbs and Phillips head screws and plates. You can set them in the sun on a warm day, put them in the oven, or use a hair dryer. Hair dryer seems to work pretty good. I have done all of the above. Also when you get all the condensation out get some clear silicon and seal up the lights again. Mine don't ever get any condensation in them anymore. Good luck. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

What exactly were you wanting instructions on? Removing the headlights?

You obviously would have to reseal them. lol and the holes would be drilled into the back of the light. You would have to reseal them anyway if you took it apart your way.
Here is a go-by from American Muscle.

Instructions on how to de-fog your headlights:

1. Remove ALL of the bulbs and wiring from the headlights. Not doing so will cause severe damage to your headlight housings, forcing you to purchase yet another set of headlights.
2. Heat your oven to 250 degrees and sit a piece of WET cardboard on top of a plate. *Note - placing the headlights in the oven are to speed up the evaporation of the water. If you are not comfortable with this step you can place the headlights in direct sunlight, but it will take longer for the water to evaporate.
3. At 250 degrees place the headlight on top of the cardboard for 3 min (Note: It is NOT necessary to pre-heat the oven for this process).
4. Remove the headlight from the oven (careful, it will probably be quite hot) it and push your Mustang headlight back together as much as your can. Our headlights are sealed front to back, so push as hard as you can on the front and back housing to create a better seal. Try your best not to have any openings between the housings.
5. Once pressed firmly together, take some silicone RTV sealant, which is available at any hardware store, and spread it along the line where the housings come together. This step will cover any open holes leftover from any silicone not drying in place completely.
6. Let the freshly applied silicone dry before re-installing the headlights into your Mustang.
What this process does is melts the silicone glue that has come from the factory that was used to seal the housings. Sometimes that glue has open spaces left over after being sealed at the factory. As the silicone glue dries, it re-hardens and is pressed tighter between the two headlight housings, creating a stronger bond. The step of adding more silicone glue is necessary to cover any other possible gaps in the headlight housing so that another leak does not develop.
7. You should also want to check the seals around the Mustang headlight bulbs as well to make sure there is no extra air leaking into the headlights from the bulb housings.

I just took the bulbs out and put it lens side down on a heat vent for a day. Make sure you seal around the lens afterward so you don't have this problem again.

let them dry them taking out the bulbs and running a hair dryer in them. then run silicone around the lens where it meets the plastic. boom no more condensation.

if you want to detach the lens youll have to put them in the oven melt the glue and reheat and restick the glue

+1 across the board, take the bulbs out, let the whole headlight sit outside and dry up (I live in FLA so it's warm enough and dry) then seal up the whole thing with silicone. DO NOT SEAL WITH SILICONE WHEN CONDENSATION IS IN LIGHT!!

Ok I actually got the idea to wash out my headlights one day. And I found out that the still held alot of water when I was done. So heres wat I did-take off the rubber covering if there is any around the housing where the bulbs go on-and use an air compressor with an air nozzle on the end. Try blowin the water til it puddles into drips and shake the hell out of it. Idk if it will work but its worth a try. Also maybe a dehumidifier in a sealed area?

A trick we used to use back when I worked for the State Police Fleet Mechanics was to drill a tiny hole in one of the bottom corners of all light shells..this gave a place for water to drain out and the heat of the day would ventilate all the vapor right out in less than an hour..its ok to have a hole in a light shell, thats ventilation!

You could, be we found that it was best to just leave it open. If you put a tiny hole about 2-3mm in a bottom corner, youll never see that condensation again..the vapors cant get trapped..and we never lost a bulb because of it either so dont worry about it, every Lousianna State Police Car has little holes in thier head and tail light assembleys! lol and I put 1/2 of them there! ..think about that for a second!..lol thats some funny shit1
