actually I was told you should be good with the 5.0 engine to trans bolt pattern because its the same bolt pattern. Dont qoute me though. Other than that I dont know. I would imagine it would be about 50000000000000000000x cheaper and easier to just buy a 5.0 or newer v8.
Plus its also pointless to get an older 5.0 engine because your V6, with a few bolt ons, will be faster anyway. I think 98s are splitport right? |

the 98 v6 is single port, not split port. you will need a lot of things to put the 5.0 in your car. time wise and money wise it would be cheaper to buy a 5.0 stang then it would to swap the engine into your v6.

all for nothing as a '95 will have a 4.6 not a 5.0. they never put pushrod motors in the new body style crown vic's.

Thats right! I used to work Crn Vics for a living..all the old 95s I ever saw were 4.6 modular engine..but if he has the WHOLE VIC, he could swap everything and get it to work I think but the main problem is that the Crn Vic shifter was on the column and not on the floor like the Stang hed have to work that linkage out somehow. He'd probably have to do some cutting to the Stang to get the bell housing to clear the Mustang firewall, not sure though just a guess. It would be a big job, hed even have to swap the fuel pump I bet and get it to fit the Stang's tank..now if the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same on the 4.6 and the 3.8 that would mean it would be alot easier but I doubt they are. The you,d also have to swap the radiator also, that could be a problem..and that 4.6 is pretty wide..you may have clearance problems but then again the last few years of his body style had 4.6s in them so It could work! Id try it! But not on a car I was driving every day..it would take weeks to get it right, little issues here and there.
