IRS money

Should i do a T-lok and gears or Long tubes and H pipes with my tax return? Or something else? Looking to spend just about 500...gotta pay other bills? So all i got now is magna flow cat back and cold air intake. Looking to do something that will make a difference.

gears will be good if you want to install them yourself. Gears and Tlock and install kit will run you around 450 without the install.

Cant really say, we have no idea what your local shops would charge for tlok/gear install or a exhaust system. I can tell you one thing though, LTs alone are about $300. And usually a shop will charge you about $400 for a custom fabbed dual exhaust.

My local shop charges about $700 for gears, tlok, and install.

This is HORRIBLE advice to anyone but master mechanics or those who have been to some sort of training for gear installs. If not done correctly you can damage your rear end or the gears will whine VERY badly.

Lol i didnt tell him to do it i said gears and tlok would be good if he knew how to install them himself because the install would put him over the 500 he wants to spend.

do you want low end power or high end power, you wont gain any horsepower from gears but it will feel like you just got like 40 hp if you want good high end power like on the freeway then i would get LTs and an H pipe personally i would go for the gears although either way you will spend a bit more than 500 but totally worth it

Well gears will be your best bet but after you buy the gears and tlok and install them you need to fix your speedometer also. Which means you should get an Xcal tuner($380). If you get the Longtube headers and h pipe you will be over your $500 budget again even if you install your Lt's yourself. Ceramic Lt's-330 and H pipe from AM is 160 and o2 Extensions you will still be over you budget without install. So if you wanna stay under your budget get a tuner and something else that is cheap or buy the gears and tlok and save up money to later install them.
