quest for 500rwhp 4.2L p1-sc
a year ago i dynoed 436rwhp at hpp in lewsville texas with 15psi and stock intakes on a 93 oct tune. yes it had torco, but that was because i had a mostly full tank of 91oct from oklahoma since i don't have very many 93oct here.
My goal is to be the first p1-sc procharged v6 mustang to hit 500rwhp. I have SSM sheet metal intake that should be complete this week if everything is going well, and 3 psi more of boost to play with. As well as i am getting rid of the procharger inlet pipe that connects to the head unit and basically just putting a filter directly to the head unit. It will allow the head unit to suck as much air as possible without 2 90 degree bends that are currently on the inlet pipe. mods -3.8 stock block bored and stroked to 4.2L -Factory 4.2L crankshaft -RPM ported Heads -RPM Custom Cam 219/224 -SSM Sheet Metal intake w/ ported to match lower.(installed soon) -Ross Racing Forged pistons -Scatt Forged Rods -70mm BBK Throttle Body -Harland Sharp 1.8 high ratio RR's -lightning 80mm MAF (will need extender when pegs) -MAC Long tube into 2.5in MAC exhaust -3.73's w/ T-lock -tko 500 tranny w/ RAM HD clutch -Procharger p1-sc w/ 2 core intercooler @ 15psi ATM. can go to 18psi before max out impeller speed. I probably am missing somethings but my memory sucks. ![]() I think it is possible and am going to do what i can to do it that normally would be done. I.E. better intercooler/more boost/ etc... If it comes to the point of doing wierd things just to hit a number i will quit and rebuild the head unit to a D1R and make my 500rwhp that way. My main reason for wanting to do this is 500rwhp is a large goal for any build. I want to show that these motors can reach it with a basic model entry level supercharger such as the p1-sc. with a better system like a turbo kit, i know my build could reach levels in the 600rwhp range if i wanted. Whos to say if i get pissed if this build doesn't work the way i imagine, that i won't have HPP custom make a turbo kit.

that shouldn't be to bad. if your forged just up boost. but like i learned get intakes done first. you can only gain what makes it through the crappy stock intakes.

i have a s197 so i dunno what you mean by get the intake done first. im going for 650rwhp with the forged block and 150shot. but thats sometime in the future.

DELK! ugh... that intake he has looks horrible but yes its custom...not everything they have custom is good though... ![]() , SSX is a badass intake, to bad hipo will be on hold for the upper and lower combo for a while![]() they dont know what good numbers are ![]() thank you, but this is stangchargers thread. Iam sure he'll be happy with HIS numbers good luck sir!

I talked with procharger today and the tech guy said any air filter that fit should flow enough. and that getting rid of the inlet pipe is fine.

best pics i can find of the old SSM sheet metal intake. The new one i think is alittle different path and a new guy making it. From what Tom told me i will be the first to have one made by this guy and we let him take his time to get it right. I will call Tom on friday and check in. He has been really nice over the phone and answering questions.
