Few options
4.10 gears and a t-lok + install would run about 1k

UD pulley, dual exhaust with GT take offs, tuner should be around your price range too

Those options will wake the car up a bit

full exhaust also could run you about $800 and then pulleys...

that would give you a desireable canvas to start on

headers wouldn't be to hard... AB did it in his garage in 6 hours or so... i got under my car the other day and was looking at it... it looks like a simple switch... compared to somethings i have gotten into...

just watch the spark plugs... its easy to whack those...
opps

Yeah it wasnt too hard to do, and im not exactly an auto tech, just more of a pain...And I did manage to break an inch or so of ceramic off one of my plugs...It was worth saving the 300 bucks shops charge though

... yea i was gonna say the K shouldn't be a problem they look like if you just jack the car up a few feet in the air... it should be an easy drop out... and switch... i heard it was easier to go from the bottom

Yeah we had the car up on jackstands, with two people angling in the LT's is a lot easier also
