Loud Squeeking Noise.

I have a 3.8 Mustang V6(2000, with roughly 101k on it)

I keep hearing a loud squeek/squeel noise, I tried changing the belt on it but still squeeling.

Sounds like it may be the idler pulley(next to the altenator?) but wanted to get everyones oppinion before I spent money to fix it.

Hmm... sure its the engine bay? Any noticeable performance loss?

its probaly you cam sensor they make a loud squeaking sound when they go bad in our motors i would look into that ....... that is what it sounds like it is

could be your tensioner pulley.

Lift the tensioner up and slide the belt off the alt. Then spin the pully and see if its the bearing in the tensioner, should take all of umm 30 seconds.
