Ram air assembly?

I'll try to find the site where I found this, but it was just a big scoop located below the front fascia with a short tube out the top and connected to a fenderwell CAI with 5 inch dryer hose. Would this give you the gains of ram air or since it is connected to a CAI just give you fresher air.

.... my only suggestion is not having the hose touching the filter... you might have the possibility of water loggin the engine

how would we get water in the engine with an obviously lower intake? wouldn;t the water sit below in the filter even if it did get in there.

... if you have the intake connected water has a chance of getting in their...

an engines just a fancy vacum ... if you get water in the tube theirs a chance of gettin into the engine... especially when you have the revs way up high...

im just warnin ya

... the only way that water won't get in their is if right beneath the filter the tube is perfectly verticle so the water wont catch and sit

lol what if you drilled a hole in the scoop for the water to come out of? Cause I am going to make this I priced the stuff 15 bucks at lowes. I just want to avoid water.

haha but how many v6's can say they have a functional ram air.. o hey also i was thinking about putting it way below like in the front bumper there, so i could use a nice big filter, not in the scoop up top.

... im thinking if you put a piece of plastic behind the filter to stop air getting past it and then having the tube vent some air up their... and have about a 2" gap between the filter and tube

technically could work but wouldnt; the plastic stop flow and make it harder to breathe? what were going for is ram air where speed is related to the idea of forcing the air into the filter and into the engine

yea... i understand... the plastic would be behind the filter to prevent it from escaping

well ... what if you get a high flow filter to help with the water restrition... and put it in the drytube... maybe?? or... what if you put a plug in front of the tube for rainy days... where do you live and does it rain much??

i think that might work well... if you gave that a try

that could work. I can't find the kit it was for a 94-98 it came with the CAI the scoop and some 5" dryer pipe was pretty much it for 150 bucks so I'm just going to make it and on the scoop I'm going to drill holes in the bottom and put a cut up under shirt on it so the water will drain out. Or think of something else.

aight... well i think theplug thing might work best for you... and leave some space for air to get in else where...

or you could do your idea and hope it doesn't ever get wet...

i was thinking the under shirt thing too
