did you read the sticky I posted? You are asking a lot of simple questions that could be answered in stickies/searches.

So if you buy a tuner, you still have to take it somewhere to get done?

and yes, I read the sticky... just.

If you do go to a shop do get a dyno tune make sure they use/support that tuner. But you can set up different tunes for you car, and Trick Tuners will also send tunes for you

it takes a lot to get a V6 in comparison with the power of a V8/GT, not to mention the appearance of a nice mustang. ive had mine for almost 5 years and its finally about where i want it. of coarse a blower would be nice, but its my daily.

gears and tlok will make you wet your pants!

and get the other fun stuff too...

but if you want shaker hood with ram air, just get it and dont waste your money doing the same thing twice by getting a regular cai first

if you want quick/cheap power, i'd go with this..
eBay Motors: Electric Supercharger Turbo Ford Mustang Bronco Focus (item 140303422107 end time Mar-01-09 18:45:07 PST)

but seriously..
another good thing to get is an aluminum driveshaft. its lighter than the stock one and will free up a little horsepower.
do you have an auto or a 5 speed?
if you have an auto you can get a shift kit. it will give you quicker shifts and it will strengthen and go easier on your tranny.

if you've got a 5 speed, you can get a short throw shifter. it won't add anything performance-wise, but the distance the shifter has to travel will be shorter and you won't miss as many shifts.

I'm not looking for HUGE power, I mean I have no HP goals in mind or whatever, but the more I get the better, but I'm not looking to compare it to a GT (if i can beat them when I'm all said and done, sweet! if not, whatever).

Hey man, I agree with you completely...

I've got an 02 sixer with just under 60k on the clock. It just doesn't make any sense to trade a perfectly maintained sixer for an older GT, regardless of your speed and power differentials... Insurance for a 4.6L would be $128 more per month for me than my 3.8L insurance.

You can always do an engine swap in the future... You'll still pay V6 insurance, but you'll have the GT power.

As far as your mods go, I'm just getting ready to make some significant changes myself.

MAC Longtube Headers
MAC Offroad H Pipe
MAC Catback System
3.73 Gears
42% Underdrive Pulley

I do plan going down the FI road in the future once my car is payed down a bit, so going LT's isn't a terribly dumb idea.

I have a CAI in mine, and I'm very happy I made the purchase, even though it has little to nothing to show for now, as I make more changes, I'm sure I'll be happy with the decision.

I'm thinking I'm going to have mine done over spring break, if you have any questions let me know!

Sixers Stay Strong!

the ram air hood does the exact same thing as a cai but keeps the engine slightly better. just get a cai for like $700+ cheaper. the cai does make the exhaust sound a lot better tho.

-CAI
-UDP
-Roller rockers
-Gears/ T-lock
-short shifter if 5 speed or J-mod if auto
-exhaust

SCT tuner will be needed after gears/t-lock and get a dyno tune after that as well.
