a few problems, id like addressed.

ok to start off i just have a few problems. and id like to see what yall think.

1) transmission is hard to put in 1st gear. and the other day i lost traction in first on a gravel road and tried to put in 2nd and it kept grinding even with the clutch pressed in....

2) i have to put it in 4th first then reverse or else reverse grinds

3) every now and then, maybe once a day. when slowing down and not in gear, when i come to a stop my rpms will stick at around 2k and after about 15 seconds they go back down.

4) when i turn my car on, it doesnt start right up. i have to hold the key for a little longer than i used to. and if i dont hold it long enough it almost dies.

5) when im at idle i feel the car slightly jerk, maybe a misfire? my check engine light isnt on.

6) i get about 60mpt better with supreme, but last tank i got 220 miles instead of the usual 280. do you think maybe the gas station mixed up the gas? and i got the cheap stuff instead of supreme?

7) also any gear im in, if i take my foot off the gas then press the gas. my whole car jerks. and its not like a im accelerating jerk, its kind of like when you go WOT on an auto and it downshifts. it feels like that minus the acceleration. it doesnt matter how far i push the gas in, it does it.

i think thats it for now. other than i think i have a short because sometimes my signal lights blink fast and sometimes slow. and every now and then my windshield wipers go by themselves.

I had that problem before it's caused by a dry start get a better oil filter that prevents dry start. I have one now and that never happens to me now.

I'm not forsure because I have my oil changed at this drive through garage they did it for me and they asked me if I would like a oil filter that prevents dry start and I said ok and he put it on. I'm pretty sure it's mobil high preformance oil filter.

It's probably it because I had the same problem try this to make sure. Start your car up let it run for alittle bit then shut it off now restart it if it starts up faster then it's the filter. It also might have to do with your oil I got senthetic blend not the cheapest one.

Lol me too just wanted to make sure you don't get that shit. Your other problems I'll take a guess since I never had this problem but I would say you have grinded up gears that would explain most of your questions.

No, you probably did get supreme ,but supreme is ment to burn up faster then regular.

i think just the synchros are going out. not 100% sure but i think thats the problem. and any time its grinded it surely wasnt my fault.

not a clue really just change what you can.. ooil filter, oil, spark plugs, fuel filter might help if it's still the old one, and clean out the distributer cap? and possibly battery terminals. more or less do the 60,000km check up.

1 and 2...sounds like the clutch

3 sounds like you need an oil change, or a tune up

4 i have to give mine a bit of gas...i could wait til it starts but i'd rather give it a bit off gas, but also could be the need of a tune up

5...idk not sure on that

6- try a fuel system cleaner, check fuel injectors, or a fuel pump switch...also could be a tune up problem

7...i dont understand

tune up try this
oil change and try synthetic oil with new oil filter
clean air filter..if its paper get a new one
change the fuel filter
spark plugs
check radiator fluid
put some fuel system cleaner in it
also maybe some spark plug wires might help

or your fuel injectors could be dirty

i dont know how it could be the clutch though. because if the clutch were to be messed up or something when i press on the pedal it wouldnt disengage, right? well then it would grind if i put it in 1st. plus i have a semi new clutch. about 8k miles on it.

how much does a tuneup cost? and whats done in a tuneup? is it stuff i could do myself, i changed a clutch so im up for anything.

i just got an oil change last week. with synthetic oil. and new filter. i have a fuel filter in my trunk waiting for me to install. ill get to that this weekend. ive done the fuel filter cleaner a while back didnt do anything to my mpg. but ill give it a shot again. and my air filter is k&N and its clean. i guess all thats left is to check spark plugs and injectors. if the injectors are dirty how do i clean them?

oh and thank you for your help chris
