I just got a 99 mustang 3.8l v6. How do I go about getting more horsepower out of it? I would appreciate any advise of ideas on what to do.

They don't but they make you accelerate faster, oh and were talkin about the gears in your differential not your transmission.

ud pulleys will give you about 8 to 10 hp. cold air intake is another esay way to gain some slight hp increase

cheapest way to get the most noticable power.. (not nessicarily hp and hp doesnt win races)

Gears and T-lok (very noticable) $400-500
Tuner (very noticable) $300
Underdrive Pulleys (very noticable) $200
Exhaust (somewhat noticable) $200-800
Spark Plug Wires (Somewhat noticable) $100
Cold-Air Intake (Not noticable at all) $50

New spoiler and Body kit (very noticable adds about 20-30 rwhp) $1,000+*Just Kidding*

but as far as if your on a budget goes.. FOR PERFORMANCE PURPOSES.. I would do Tuner then get Gears and T-lok then get U/D Pulleys, Tehn get Spark Plug Wires, then get cold-air intake,*** then save up some money get MAC Longtube Headers, a "longtube header" Mid-pipe, and a Cat-Back with a glasspak style muffler like Magna Flow or something like that then you should be putting down respectable numbers at the wheel and your track time will be better

spark plug wires are not noticible. That is a psychological thing. The spark is exactly same as it was with the stock wires, there is nothing there to cause a colder spark for more power. It is the distributor and wires together that gives you power.

dude this guy once tried to tell me that a mistubish eclipse ... 2002 4 banger was a 14 second car... and with this monstorus body kit... that looked like shit... something you would probably find in coasties garage... ha jk... gave the eclipse a shit ton more areodynamicy... of course he said sleek ness... and that it would run 12's just with the fuckin body kit...

i almost kicked his fuckin ass... he was dead serious... i said so how much horsepower did my new wheels and tires give me ... he said since they are still stock wheels and decent tires about 5 horsepower... i puncked him and turned around and started walking
