beginner in need of a lil help

hello i own a 2000 v6 looking for advice on dual exhaust... i have a scheduled appointment at the local custom exhaust shop on tuesday.. first i told him to bolt it up to the y-pipe but i then realized thats fake duals. I called him back and he said he could make a h pipe. so would that be true duals if the h pipe was catted? does it make a difference. i live in california which requires catalytic converters

A lot of people on the internet will tell you that "true duals" are divorced duals. But they are stupid, dont listen to them. That is why they are called DIVORCED duals.

Any setup where you have a mid pipe (like the H pipe) and two tubes comming out the back is true dual.

fake duals?

huh?

it would be an extra restrictive version of the X pipe is all... anyway... get an H pipe with the Y cut out right after the second or first cats, doesn't really matter, and then have them put your choice of muffler on.

Who in the world do you listen to on the internet?

Any exhaust set up without a y pipe, meaning an x pipe, h pipe, or no pipe, is true duals.
