Nitrous.

How big of a shot could the stock block handle w/ full bolt-ons? I would only use it twice a month at the track.

75shot with a good tune
its not really the block its mmore the engine and internals
if you get forged internals and differnt headers or set up
or a stage 3 power pak that can change...im going with a 100 or 150 shot i think. i know it can handle more but with a turbo i'd rather not try

You can run a 100 shot with no problem as long as you run a wet kit. Alot of people believe that nitrous is dangerous in any shape form or fashion. This is a myth however as nitrous is not the culprit but rather the poor mixture of air/fuel, and nitrous in the compression chamber. Many young people buy a dry kit and put it on thier cars with no extra fuel management to make up the difference of the added oxygen the nitrous oxide makes when compressed. This in turn creates a volatile combination and damages the motor. On the other side I have seen people who run too much fuel pressure and create a lean condition and destroy the motor that way. A good bet is to use a wet kit from a respectable company such as Nitrous Express, NOS, or Edelbrock. A 100 shot while it may seem large can be handled by the 3.8 as long as the fuel management is there. But if you feel this may be too big of a jump then a 75 nozzle will also do with no problems.

+1 nitrous is not dangerous, dumb asses that dont know how to tune to nitrous is!!! all you are doing is adding fuel and an a subsitute for oxygen to make power. i dont know about the 3.8 handling capabilities but if you want a safe set up its got to be wet. be sure the fuel punp will be able to keep up and a tune is not nesseccary but recommended and well worth the money! a tuner will remap, advance timing, lean the mixture, etc; that is why dyno tuning is the way to do it. i am running 100 and after i get a fuel pump i will be runnning 125 on a motor that hasnt seen an easy day since i bought it.

nitrous is the main reason for engine failure.....when you hit the little red button or hit full throttle (however you set it up).....all your internals move a lot faster...faster causing extreme wear to your crank and your pistons ect

thats why when your at the track you see every body changing their gaskets and such all the time...it wears you engine down really fast

its not to risky. people run nitrous on there car ALL the time and alot and dont have problems. and bigger shots then a lil 75 shot. ppl with nitrous fed cars would laugh at that. they've got liek 300,400,500shots and shit with 2 stages. custom nitrous bottles or nitrous boxes

nitrous is very safe with the right set up and not over doing it

I really wish that people that dont know SHIT about nitrous would quit giving advice on NITROUS...Its rediculous...

Nitrous is safe...It is fine...As long as it is tuned it will not be an issue...

A 75 shot is fine...

Can the people that dont know about nitrous please butt the f*ck out and quit telling people it is bad...

Driving your car puts wear on the engine...Thats what engines do...They wear...

If you add under-drive pulleys to your car then you are putting more wear on your engine...You put rims on your car you are putting more wear on your engine...Its a part of life...

If nitrous is tuned right with the proper safety precautions you will not have an issue...

Sorry if I seem like a d!ck but I am sick of people that dont knwo $hit about nitrous going into every thread about nitrous and f*cking telling the people that it is bad and is going to blow their engine...
