man i was just like you. i hated how everyone loved the flows. i really didn't want them. but after hearing alot of good reviews about them i went ahead and got them and let me be the first to tell you. I LOVE THEM. i have shorty headers no cats an X pipe and flow's and i absolutely love the sound. so. yes it is annoying when you ask an exhaust question and the first thing they say is flow 40's but it is for good reason. trust me if you get them you won't be disappointed at all.

I've got true duals with flowmaster 40s and I don't feel they're loud enough at all. I can hear my exhaust, but it's pretty quiet until 2500+ rpm and even then with music on I don't hear too much out of it. Sure if I was standing behind the car I'd probably have a headache after a minute but I'm not the one who has to be back there (idiots riding my ass in traffic..).
