Its an opinion...really can't say something is "best"

Majority of people like the way the flow 40's sound on our sixxers so thats what they go with

because 40 is the best ever lol. i have the same set up as you are getting except ive got the cats. its great sounding. my friend has a stock 08 gt and my exhaust is louder and slightly deeper at lower rpms, only up top our 6ers seem to get a little higher tone.

Seems like everyone recommends them bc most people like them and theyre priced somewhat decent. I dont have a v6 so im not too sure how they sound with one but people do say pretty good. I am/"was" running some on my gt with factory mid pipe and I liked them. They were fairly quiet but once you got on it they were loud. Now w/ an o/r x pipe they have a god awful pinging/metallic noise at idle so ive got some hooker aero chambers on the way.

Don't do it. Put a FlowMaster 40 on a Dodge truck I had, so damn loud I got a headache. Get a FlowMaster 50 if you want a good sounding muffler. Got one on my '05 Dodge Neon, sounds great.

maybe its just the long tubes on my car, but I think the 40's are loud and awful sounding. I can't wait to get a real car and put a good exhaust system on it. My friends GT sounds killer with magnaflows on it, thats also a choice.

man i was just like you. i hated how everyone loved the flows. i really didn't want them. but after hearing alot of good reviews about them i went ahead and got them and let me be the first to tell you. I LOVE THEM. i have shorty headers no cats an X pipe and flow's and i absolutely love the sound. so. yes it is annoying when you ask an exhaust question and the first thing they say is flow 40's but it is for good reason. trust me if you get them you won't be disappointed at all.

I've got true duals with flowmaster 40s and I don't feel they're loud enough at all. I can hear my exhaust, but it's pretty quiet until 2500+ rpm and even then with music on I don't hear too much out of it. Sure if I was standing behind the car I'd probably have a headache after a minute but I'm not the one who has to be back there (idiots riding my ass in traffic..).
