mustang revs high when started but then calms down after a bit


so i have a 94 stang and when i start it up mostly ib the norning it revs high around 2.5 - 3.5 for a bit then it cums back down im just wondering if any one kns whats up ?? and if i let it idle after a couple min i see the battery needle move like it wants to die , it doesnt sound like it but i can hear more of the engine calm down then come back to normal hopefully u can understand what im sayin so any info helps Thanks!!

Umm...yeah...every car does that really. They all need a little time to warm up. Just make sure you dont start going until it goes down to its usual idle

sounds good but what do u think about my car when it idles i see the battery needle go down ?? i also hear a change it the engine the rev isnt diffrent its more like a quick car hik-up lol

So once you car idles (settles down as you call it) the battery needle drops? I'd have to say thats an alternator problem...If you take it to autozone or something like that they can test it for you

my brothers car did this when he first got it, he said cleaning the MAF, IAC and idle control fixed it for him. Thats what I would look into doing if I were you.
