dude, once buddy explained it more clearly i understood it. in the original way he posted it, he used a dangling modifier, but once he went back and fixed the order of his words i understood it. notice how when i explained how i interpreted it to triple a, he understood my interpretation, and if the same sentence can be easily interpreted both ways, it is the fault of the writer not the reader (im not saying anything bad about you buddy, you were helpful in this) and if you would read and understood the other comments you would have understood that your posts were unneeded, so you have no room to insult anyone's reading comprehension skills

I'm just wondering about this -hanging modifier- , didn't seem like anything was hard to follow. Then again I'm not an English major by any means. And secondly, do you think I care? Nope.

i never said it was hard to follow, i showed and proved (triple a understood how i interpreted what buddy said) that there was more than 1 way to interpret what buddy said. if you didnt care, you should have responded maturely like triple a or buddy did. this is just you being you, and if you want to continue this, do it via pm.

AC these motors are different
a 4.2 as just find geometry angles as a stroker unlike most v8s your thinking of
ive already adress the issue with another distributor for parts

Redlined Performance Mustangs
and Super Six Motorsports
is the only 2 distributors i would take into consideration
RPM deals with Ross for their pistons
Super six deals with Weisco for theirs

both are well known names

I have a spec sheet on 4.2 .030 pistons if your interested
from what ive heard JEpistons with specs you can get pretty cheap vs these companies

you would have to use SCAT 6.125 pistons that you can find on summit. they're for a 351w motor

the crank is straight out of a 4.2L f150 v6
you can buy from ford for like $200

short answer is

3.8L n/a is 242rwhp by kirk

4.2L n/a is 274rwhp by justin2k

however no one has tried a fully built n/a motor with this SSM intake. I would be curious to see what gains it gets. because are stock upper intake is horrible.

I am just trying to get some round about figures. We have a guy in the area that is making 245 on the stock shortblock with a 3.8. So, I was just wondering if that was abnormal or pretty consistent with other results. I hope to be able to help him make 300 on his V6, but we will see where that goes.

he will need a much better intake than stock. not even ported is very much better.

as well as he will need higher compression. IMO

its sad to see that the 3.8 doesnt have much of an aftermarket for intakes and absolutely no aftermarket for heads besides workin the stockers

+1

AC your good with heads
im sure you could work something wild up as far as the cam and heads

also a windstar upper or a SSX intake upper would be a better choice

with a windstar upper and a built bottom through a C4 tranny super six made 260rwhp and 260rwtq
im sure with a manual and a lighter rotating assembly and a meaner cam those figures can be worked on

if your staying 3.8 the eagle I beams would be the lightest as far as the rods
then a crank scrapper and deleting the Balance shaft are tiny little things to add more power
