Lowering my car...

So im going to be lowering my car in the next few weeks... but i wanted some opinions on what size drop to get 1" or 1.5". I dont need to worry about speed bumps or anything like that yet but i do have a bunch of roads that are quite bumpy... I want the best ride quality out of them...

so which springs would you suggest?

Side Note: My friend and I are going to do the install...

it all depends on what you think looks good.. some people will drop it 1.5" all around, and others will drop it 1.5" in the front and 1" in the rear. personally, i think it looks better to have the front end lower than the rear. and you should purchase some caster camber plates as well.

and if you're worried about ride quality then you shouldn't lower your car.. you're gonna feel every bump in the road. lol

Most spring sets you buy will lower the front end a little more than the rear giving that aggresive stance. I have Eibach Prokit springs and like them, I also have full supporting mods. With just springs the ride quality won't be too enjoyable, so if it's possible try to get at least struts/shocks and CC plates. Without the CC plates on my car it would be horrid, so I suggest getting them. Also the stock struts/shocks won't like the new ride height and probably won't perform well for long after lowering...

As far as the install it isn't hard with a buddy you should have it all done in a couple hours... PM me if you want step by step instructions on the install or if you have any other questions.

I'd look into Eibach as well.

looks good, from what I've heard people like the Steeda sports, and I have the Tokico HP's so you're good there. I suppose you could wait on CC plates and see how the front wheels sit after the drop. Those springs say 1.25" so you could get anything from 1" to 1.5". The Eibach prokit says 1.5" and my car is 1.75" lower at the side skirt than stock. (I also take into account my rims/tires). So if it sits even and you have even tire wear afterwards you should be alright.

I bought eibach pro-kit springs new off ebay for $130 shipped. That's where I'd go If I were you.

Steeda Caster Camber Plates - For 94-04 Mustangs - StangSuspension.com

Ford Racing C Performance Springs - For 79-04 Mustangs - StangSuspension.com

Tokico Hi Performance front strut 94-04 - each - StangSuspension.com

Tokico Hi Performance rear shock 94-04 - each - StangSuspension.com

This is what you want if you dont want to worry about speed bumps. Its a slightly lower than stock profile and better suspension. Oh and for the shocks/struts that EACH, so you want to select 2 for each link when adding to your cart.

OK so i found a great deal by a MM member here... i already purchased the stuff...

here is my setup...

Steeda Mustang Competition Springs (79-04) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!
Bilstein Shocks & Struts at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Does anyone know if i can get by without cc plates? The site states it only drops the car 1.25". also i have two 12" subs in my trunk... so that weighs it down a bit

depends on how you define drivable. Mine are still of a little bit and I can tell its off when driving. But I had the alignment done like 2 days after installing the new suspension stuff. Eventually I will go back and have it done again and should no longer be off.
