the stock crank pulley that came on my 1999 3.8L is 7" diameter. it is a 2 piece puller/harmonic balncer design. i swapped it out with a 42% smaller and aluminum motoblue pulley last year and it has since warped and cracked my harmonic balancer. ford has had so many problems with this that they now produce a 1 piece harmonic balancer/crank shaft pulley design for our cars. the part is $80 from ford as a 1 piece 7" unit. the power is much more smooth throught the rpm range with a new harmonic balncer and pulley.
