Curb Weight
Anyone know what the 99-04 model v6 weighs in at?
My wife works for Nissan and we were discussing whether the Sentra is lighter than my mustang. The answer is yes, but I couldn't offer up hard numbers. I know the new SER spec-v which is what we own that she drives now weighs in at 3051 according to Nissan's provided specs. But, I didn't know what my car weights. I'm sure its more than that, but I don't what exactly the numbers are. Any ideas? |

I looked inside the door panel and it had two figures that kind of confused me. It has two weights that are over 2000lbs apiece, but they are refering to the front and rear of the car. So, I'm at a loss as to what that means.
Goren, If they are that close in weight then I am really surprised. Because the Mustang appears to much bigger, bulky, etc than the Sentra. So, that was where my assumption came from that it had to be significantly heavier. For some reason I thought the car was around 3800 lbs. |

2000 Ford Mustang Specifications
Nope. I was wrong. The weight is 3064 just like you said. I have the automatic so I bet I'm a little bit heavier than that, but not too much. Also, I bet the gearing and engine type are what make it feel heavier. I bet her Sentra is geared higher and since it is 2.5L DOHC it feels a lot spunkier than my SOHC 3.8L At least those are my guesses then. |

Yeah I dunno what would make it 'feel' heavier... Crazy I got it right on the dot, I think I saw that figure earlier this morning looking for something else actually it must have stuck... Maybe the suspension and as you said the gearing... and an auto may feel more 'lag' for lack of a better word... I dunno
