Ok so i just ordered my new tuner a sct xcal 3. im so excited. Ok when u order it are u supposed to send info on mods done to the car or does that occur when you get ur tuner? im jc. and i was also wondering how big a difference it will make i have an 02 v6 with a k&n cai, 2.5inch true duals, udp, and it is a 5 speed.

You would need to give them mods that actually need to be accounted for in the tune. cam, gears, different wheel/tire sizes and such... simple boltons won't change anything.

I just use a 87 tune(as opposed to the higher octane tune), and I can switch between stock and the tune and not notice anything at all except for the rev limiter. On an auto it makes a much bigger difference.

really? i thought it would account for the better flow of the new cai and the exhaust and take that into effect and modifiy the engine to run more efficiently. idk i guess i was just curious as how big of a difference it will make.

Nah, generic tunes won't take into account bolt ons. They just don't make that big of a difference on how much air can get into and out of your engine.

Very true. If you REALLY know your car, you might feel a difference but its minimal. I have an 02 3.8L manual tranny, BBK Headers, Magnaflow Exhaust (X Pipe), BBK Throttle Body, BBK Intake... New tune just gave a little better throttle response and the ability to go atleast 116 MPH

ah that stinks i thought it would be a pretty good difference but i suppose it all adds up and plus im gonna need it for future mods like recallibrating for tire size gears and eventually dyno tuning. oh well i guess i will just have to wait and see.
