rearend noise


my rearend is making a really weird sound kinda like something is catching and then slipping it has almost 113k miles on on any ideas what it could be

Need a lil more info...are you running a stock rear end? Does it feel like its bouncing around?

The oil is supposed to be changed at 100K miles. You might try that.

its a stock rearend with an automatic transmission and when im leaving a light or leaving the driveway it feels like its trying to shake my car apart

Try the oil, if that doesn't do it the gears may be damaged... have a shop inspect them and if need be it's a good excuse to get some 4.10's and t-lok.

forget having a shop check em, if your going to change the fluid you can inspect them while the cover is off, dont you have to remove the cover to do that?

what kind of oil goes into the stock rearend is it a sspecial kind of oil or just regular oil

It uses 90 weight hypoid oil. Any parts store will know what you need. You don't need the additive for a limited slip rear axle.

ive only seen 4.10 gears for the 8.8 rearend what about the v6's stock 7.5

not to be a thread stealer? but i have an 02 with a 5 speed and stock rearend and my car seems to jerk when im cruising at a constant speed is that normal for rear wheel drive cars? i was jc. it like jerks forward and backward idk if it is normal? it only has 75k on it.
