just a few questions

alright, this is my first post but i've been lurking for a bit and now i have a few questions. first of all, i have a 99 v6 with an exhaust and thats about it. i have about 2 grand to play around with and i would like to gain a bit of HP with that 2 grand. i already plan on buying a CAI and traction lock so that will eat into the money as well.

now for the first question; i can get this engine for 50% off because i know someone who works at vic hubbard. i might be willing to spend a little extra and wait on the CAI and put this in my v6, but i dont know what kind of complications i would run into if i tried to do an engine swap. what would i need to add in order to get this engine in proper working shape for my v6?
http://www.vichubbard.com/shop/produ...at=2792&page=1

question #2; i can also get a supercharger for fairly cheap and have it installed for free, the problem is that my car has 120k miles on it and i'm not sure if it would be wise to put a supercharger on that many miles. if it's ok, how much psi is too much?

#3 is it pointless to get headers put on my car with just exhaust and a CAI? would it help at all?

sorry to make this my first post but you guys seem to know what you're talking about and i would welcome your posts. if you guys want pics of the car i think i have a couple. thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site.

1. No to the engine a cobra 5.0 will have some problems fitting in you car correctly. Install will end up being pricey.

2. Forge internals, get a better bottom end then you can do the s/c

3. Headers will always help just remember if you ever plan on a Turbo get shorties.

For other mods in your case I would forge your internals and not throw 2 grand in a weaker engine. Get a power pak from SSMS and you will be on your way.

What do you mean shorties for a turbo...
Oh and the 5.0 swap would cost about the price of a stang with a 5.0 already in it

LT's won't work with a turbo. when you get the turbo you switch the sides the headers go on to help everything fit.

hmm, i figured that about the engine. that's too bad because i would hate to pass up a $1000 5.0, oh well.

about how much would forged internals run me?

also, what is the different between shorties and LT's? other than the obvious.

sorry for the dumb questions. before my mustang i had a firebird that died on me because i dont know much about cars. when i got the mustang i figured i'd take better care of her and try to learn some things.

umm just like the names say shorties are short and long tubes a long. Long gives better performance but shorties are goo for turbo setups because they add performance but stay out of the way. Umm the forging I would just get a Power pack from Super six motorsports (SSMS).

http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/p...2PowerPaks.pdf
that lists prices. and you'll see about 40 horses
