sea foam question.

Ok so after all my lean problem was traced back to the fuel system. I ran some of the fuel injuctor cleaner, it has new o2 sensors, I cleaned the iac and tb, now I am thinking I will seafoam it for good measure, and to clean out the rest of tthe fuel system. My question is after I dump a third of the can into the gas tank should I replace the fuel filter afterward, kinda like I will have to change the oil? Also am I missing anything as far as gettin the car clean?

So seafoam in the tank, and in the vaccuum line gets the same places? I also wanted to get the whole fuel system for good measure.

well sea foam can go through the fuel lines and clean out anything along that way, but when it goes through the vacumn system, that pretty much covers the half the fuel tank missed,
Seafoam is a miracle worker.
marvel mystery oil for the engine oil works freakin great as well.

sea foam goes in the crankcase where you add oil, fuel tank, and vacuum system. easiest place to add it in the vacuum line is the big one that runs to the brake booster on the driver side. just get a funnel and have your e-brake set because your brakes wont work very good. gotta stay on the gas while you pour it in b/c you'll have a huge vacuum leak once you unplug the line from the booster.

id change the fuel filter while your at it. pretty easy to do with the fuel line puller tool. any auto parts store should have it for around $6-8

I put mine in through the PCV valve. That way it gets to everything up top evenly. Word of caution though...if your car has alot of miles on it, your taking a risk.

As far as putting it in the gas tank, there wont be a need to change the fuel filter unless it needed it already.

do the thirds system and then replace the fuel filter. that's for your best results, and seeing as you are worried about your fuel system, the most ideal route for you to take.

I don't think high mileage should be an issue, I've used some before, but it was only the third can my friend didn't wanna put in his oil. I ran it through the vaccuum line. The main thing I wanna hit is the fuel rails and make sure they are cleaned up.

I'm pretty sure seafoam is petroleum based and thus is safe on almost all years (unlike ones that are highly acidic). The thing that you gotta worry about though, is that if your car hasn't been maintained, using seafoam could remove the sediments that are keeping old seals/gaskets from leaking. But I don't think this is the case very often.

A third of the can goes in the gas tank, a third goes into the crank case, and you suck up a third with the vaccuum line.
