Tunners/programers
My friend told me that I couldn't just get a programer from someone else
because it wouldn't work. I thought that I would just have to buy the program not the whole thing. who was right?

That I couldn't tell you, but if you get it brand new then you know your good to go. Just plug and play. Chances are it will cost about the same as buying a brand new one, and with a brand new one you don't have to go anywhere. Just order it with the tunes you want, and then when you get it, plug it in, turn it on, use it, and then see what the difference is like in your car.
