car wont start helppp....

ok so i decide i wanted to clean my car today. i turned on my music while cleaning... i never turned on the car so the battery just drained. When i went to move my car the car wouldn't start.

I then jumped the car. i let the car sit for like 15-20 mins then shut it off. after i shut it off i tried to start it again...

the car now doesn't have the power to make the beep when the door is open... but its been making a constant clicking noise by the fuses.

anyone have this problem before? any solutions? i replaced my alternator about 4 months ago so i feel like that shouldn't be the issue... the car just doesn't seem to hold the charge now even when i unplug my aftermarket system.

this video might help with the noise atleast...

How old is ur battery and also i dont know if u have a digital multi meter so u can read the volts and see what could be dead but i think if u take the battery to any auto parts store they can check it. Also check the alternator if its not the battery because it could be defective even if its not that old sometimes it comes back from wherever they make it

the battery is about a year old if that... so its reasonably new... i wont be able to take my battery in for testing till later tonight...

i mean the once i got the car running it stayed running... once i shut it off it wouldn't start up again...

then its most likely your alt...those are the only two things that can really cause that problem

so realistically when i have the car running just sitting idle it should charge the battery right?

yes that is correct...if the alt is bad then it will not charge the battery and your battery will die while the car is running...and you will not be able to start the car up again

ok see to me now it sounds like it couldn't be the alternator... the last time my alt went out my car would shut off... just like you said...

my car never shut off when i jumped it and left it running... it just wouldn't start on its own after turning the car off. so could this most likely be the battery?

it sounds like the battery, but do all ur electronics like radio power windoes and all that stuff work fine when the car is running and also how long do u leave it off? u could try to shut the car off and then start it a couple minutes later and see if it starts and then try it like 20 minutes later and if its dead that time then it most likely is the battery. But also take it to advanced or something they will check it and if it needs to be replaced they have them there.

+1 have it checked out if you don't have the equip. to do so yourself, sounds like the battery to me... also check the battery terminals and cables to ensure they are on properly and aren't damaged, and clean off any corrosion...

its the battery end of discussion
alternator has no role to play during start up
your battery is no good
when you start the car or attempt and allyou get is a clicking thats an indicator there isnt enough power to get the starter to crank the motor
