Water pump assistance please

it seems as though my water pumps bearings are going out due to the annoying squeak coming from that area. anyone know how to remove it and replace it?? step by step would be great but id be happy with knowing exactly what i had to do.

is the pump hooked into the crank and timing belt or do i not need to worry about that??

any help is appreciated. also if there is anyone in the elizabethtown kentucky area that wouldnt mind helping that would be great as well.

The water pump is driven by the serpentine belt and is on the front of the engine. Since there are a number of things that could make the noise, it would be a good idea to remove the serpentine belt and feel all the belt driven parts for a bad bearing. It could be a tensioner bearing also.

You should get a manual to follow to replace the water pump. The main problem is that the power steering pump pulley has a brace behind it that needs to come off. It can be done by removing and replacing the pulley, which requires some special tools (which you may be able to rent from an auto parts store). Or you can remove the whole bracket assembly complete with the alternator and power steering pump and set it aside. The latter route requires removing some bolts from underneath that are hard to get to.
