CAM
umm, im going to be ordering some cams soon. What would be the best cam for me. I want a pre grinded cam from like comp or something. I think I am going to be just staying NA, but I want the best performance. I think my total goals are just H/I/C and complete bolt ons with suspension mods. I just ordered some UDP's. I decided I want to stay realistic, because by the time I have enough money or a good enough job to get FI and forged rotating assembly I will probably want something different so I am going to just be sticking with the basics. I am going to get my H/I p&ped to save money also.

Cam
(singular) I would suggest swapping to the split port heads and intakes also.

Honestly,
I don't think its worth you're time trying to make an N/A single port. You should do just split port intakes and make more than you would with a cammed single port.

Yeah if you're going to do a H/C/I at some point you might as well do the split port swap while you're at it.

If your not going to do ported and polished heads and intakes, you would prob be fine with just a 207/215 regrind. Even then that might be more cam than you need.

Split port or not
you can stay single port, IMO if you wana go split port is almost easier and cheaper to just get a 99-04 motor out the bone yard unless you pic theparts yourself which in the end you might save a couple dollars but every split port swap ive seen tends to make akward power vs a full swap. why i have no idea but thats just what ive seen. and im pretty sure 98 and lower have the same compression.

I am getting Port and Polished heads/intake, I am just not doing the split port. I was thinking 216/224. I honestly do not know anything about cams, which is why I am asking you guys. I want the best in performance for now and for later when I have full bolt ons/p&ped head/intake, ect

I dont want to do split port because I dont want to have to deal with it. I am already putting another motor into my car, and I dont want to do it a third time for split port. I have heard that I can obtain just as much power from ported single as from ported split. I graduate college soon and will want a new car eventually, so I am just trying to make my next year or 2 more fun.
Any cam suggestions? anything? |

you can still go single port theres no problem with that.
Where are you buying the parts from and the cam? it'd be a good idea to talk with them about the cam choice for the selected head and flow

thats a good idea. I guess thats really the best thing I could do.
I know you dont like Delk, but maybe them. There is also the possibility of SSM, and some other places. I talked to a person with a 02 v6 with P&Ped heads, dual exaust, CAI, and he went with a 216/224, which is the reason I said I might want to do the same thing. I am telling my parents to order me some headers, h pipe and UDPs for my birthday, which is today lol.

I know you dont like delk, but what do you think of their UDP's? they seem cheap for my year, which is one of the reasons for me getting them. Like 80$

Suggest you talk to whoever is porting your heads and intakes about the cam.
