the new hybrid variable geometry turbos are reducing turbo lag time to nearly nothing.

yes but just like a turbo charger it takes higher rpms to create more boost.. so the s/c may have no gray area but its good area isnt better than the turbo by anymeans so the lag really doesnt out weigh the power from a turbo.. just my thoughts

It may take more higher rpms to make boost, but there is no lag. It makes power from the instant the belts move. And obviously it doesnt out weigh power from a turbo since turbos are more efficient and make more power.
