Which Tuner should I get?
I have decided my next mod. will be a tuner. Info on my 1999 v6 stang is it has CAI and divorced duals with two separate performance aftermarket mufflers. I am debating between the following tuners.
1)SCT Mustang 4-Bank Eliminator Chip w/ Free Custom Tunes (88-04) price: $269.99 ...and a Mustang Coin Holder Bezel for SCT Eliminator 4-Bank Chip (96-04) price: $29.99 =TOTAL price: $300 2)DiabloSport Predator Mustang Tuner (98-04 GT, 98-01 Cobra, 01 Bullitt, 03-04 Mach1, 98-03 V6) price: $369.99 3)SCT SF3 / XCal3 Power Flash Mustang Preloaded Tuner (96-09) price: $379.99 4)SCT SF3 / XCal3 Power Flash Mustang Tuner w/ Free Custom Tunes (96-09) price: $379.99 Prices are from AmericanMuscle.com which includes free shipping. Any and all suggestion/comments would be great!...Thanks in advance.

why +500? i checked out the site, and it looks like everything similar to americanmuscle.com but not as professional of a webpage design. Is there free shipping like americanmuscle has?...I am really not trying to down on the site, but it doesn't have free custom tunes for life similar to AM?
---thanks for the suggestion though. ...and is there anything wrong with option #1?...it is about $70 less but nobody has recommended it yet.

a chip is ok but a tuner is much better imo. you can do more with the tuner.
As far as Joe's site.. it is small yes, but his tunes are dead on and he does free shipping/retunes as well. a few of our members here including myself have been tuned by him.

+19873928 #4, a custom tune is for YOUR car, hence custom. This way you tune for everything that your car has, down to wheel/tire size. This is the best route, do it right. And if you've got the cash go dyno tune, even more precise. However with your limited mods at this point that probably isn't necessary.

I will add my own .02 in on this. I build and race quads and have never dropped much for cash in my car. Money better spent getting the HP in the quad. However I have had to replace various parts, so it was time to upgrade. I was just going through this choice. and I paid the little extra and went through Trick Tuners. Main reason was after talking to him, I have a person that does this all day every day, who has my back. There to answer the questions, and offer the best bang for the buck. And having that guy there to get you the best safely, I will pay more

thanks a lot guys...i've decided im going to go with the SCT.
anyone have suggestions on preloaded(3) vs custom tunes(4)? ALSO,... Another question: i've read install manuals, but it seems kind of confusing. Is it an easy enough install to where I could do it myself, and have no problems (pretty much follow install manual)? http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/musta...ser-manual.pdf Downloading a Tune to Your SCT Device at AmericanMuscle.com Downloading a Tune to Your SCT Device at AmericanMuscle.com SCT Automotive Performance Products ...and of course there are more *I don't know how to take apart a car and put it back together, but I do know most basics and what NOT to fool around with.--not too sure about this one--

Install is simple.
When you get the tuner, it will come with a CD and you just follow the instructions. It is no harder then setting up an email address. a preloaded tune doesn't hold a key to a custom tune in general. regardless of the device or the person tuning it.

great, I will be getting the SCT tuner. are there any other websites or suggestions I should take a look at when buying the tuner?
I believe I can get a 6% discount at AM. I understand that TrickTuners is a very valued site here at MM, but does TrickTuners.com offer competing prices? I've heard MANY great reviews on AM as well. ...or any other places? thanks again guys

Yes trick tuners offer competing prices. There are other vendors on here that sell the SCT tuners as well that are also great. AM is a good one, we just prefer Trick Tuners here is all.

Well..
I wasn't there while it was been dyno'ed and tuned....but the end result is freeekin AWESOME. I can't get over how different it is...my idle is rumbling at a stop light which it NEVER...EVER did. It's whole nother beast. BUT.....I was tuned at the high octane, so now I gotta keep it at high octane. But it's a sixer....$40 to fill her up..is not bad.

Really one of the big deciding factors should be a) price b)nearby shops that can do a dyno tune, if you plan to take it that far.
Let us know how you like it
