Bad Gas Mileage

First How many miles should i get reasonably on a full tank of gas?

I have LT Headers, O/R Hpipe, Flowmaster catback, and a CAI. Ive been getting pretty crappy gas mileage lately and was wondering if it could be the o2 sensors. If i had a bad o2 sensor would my check engine light be on? Ive seafoamed the car and its still sucks. I only have about 48,000 miles, what do you guys think? I’m selling my car to my friend soon and would like to fix the problem first.

Have you gone to an auto store for them to see what code it's throwing? Then you'd know what the light was on for, it could be the 02's, if they're bad it'll throw a code. This MAY affect mileage, how bad are we talking? Driving as sensibly as possible I'm at 20mpg... led foot syndrome and it's more like 17-18.

That time i ran it pretty low. Then i held down the Trip button and started the car and added the rest of the miles. So basically thats a full tank consumed.

It's a 15.5 gallon tank, normal full fill is about 14.5 gallons, I get around 280 miles out of that.

Yea i went to autozone and im not throwing a code. I dont no what it is because if a full tank is 14.5 that means im only getting about 15mpg wtf. It doesnt matter because im getting rid of it soon but theres got be be something wrong.

Cleaned all your filters and replaced spark plugs and fresh oil? General things as such can help sometimes, there may be a larger underlying issue, but you said only 40somethin k miles... If you want to take the time do all those minor things you may see an improvement, and just be extra grandma-ish behind the wheel for a bit and see if it helps any.

have you checked your tire pressure lately?
my was low and i was only getting low 20s, but i took care of that and im back to mid-20s. (the winter just ended, and the cold weather really takes a toll on your tire pressure)

and are some of the reserve tanks larger than others? because i was almost at E and i barely hit 13 gallons when i filled up. i usually get ~280 miles and fill up with ~11 gallons so ~25mpgs for me with more highway, but still a pretty good amount of city driving.

It's weird I don't think the reserves are bigger I think it's the sensors... like your low fuel light will go on sooner, when in reality you could drive another 50 miles... when my light goes on I take it almost til the needle is past the red and I've never run out of gas. At that point it fills to 14.5 so I still have a gallon left which means another 20 miles! so really out of a FULL tank you should be around or over 300 miles... but +1 to tire pressure I forgot to mention that, my dad has an air compressor I use every month or so to top my tires off.

ah i c. but i hit somewhere in the low 300 miles when i filled up for that low 13 gallons. and its only like 75 cents at a gas station to fill up your tires.

did you check your tire pressure with a guage or just look at your tires? I thought mine was full one time and I only had like 14psi in them when its actually supposed to have around 32 - 34 or so. Thats my tires though. Yours might require more or less.

I consistently get 200 miles/tank with in town driving. And nothing is wrong with my car... I would be thrilled to get 250 miles/tank

My car doesn't seem to care too much about how I drive. Either way I end up getting about 170-190 per tank. Then again I need new plugs, wires, front O2 sensors, and fuel filter pretty bad..
