Automatic gears

I always wondered what is is the purpose of "2" on the automtic shift thing
I noticed it runs in higher RPM's and pulls a lot harder when i press on the gas is that the gear you guys use to race?

if you don't know what i'm talking about look at the auto gear box

pretty much what everyone has said above

do not use that gear to race. and do not shift your auto like a manual. your just gonna hurt the tranny and clutch

It wont really hurt it to shift with it... its just easier to keep it in overdrive.

well b&M make3s a kit that lets you shift with your stock shifter and gets rid of the lag. Also don't leave it in second it won't change gears and you'll blow something up

You won't blow anything up by leaving anything in second. It just wont up shift and you will run out of gear. Just use common since and don't drive everywhere with your rpms maxed out in second, just use overdrive.

if you like that feeling buy the shift improvement kit from B&M 45 bucks from autozone. And install that then start in first and get up to about 4500 rpm and push it to second and you will grab and go. Then when you get to about 4500 again pop it into drive and it will auto 3rd and 4th. (Do this at the track only if your not used to it you will kick sideways)
