Automatic gears

98Stang Regular Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Northern VA Posts: 87	Automatic gears I always wondered what is is the purpose of "2" on the automtic shift thing I noticed it runs in higher RPM's and pulls a lot harder when i press on the gas is that the gear you guys use to race? if you don't know what i'm talking about look at the auto gear box P R N 2 <--------------- 1

for towing i limits the transmission to second gear

And install that then start in first and get up to about 4500 rpm and push it to second and you will grab and go. Then when you get to about 4500 again pop it into drive and it will auto 3rd and 4th.
