AODE transmission

ok so ive heard this is a weak tranny... what would i need to beef it up a lil so it can handle a lil more hp? i dont know shit about transmissions so help would be awesome! thanks in advance

the only performance mods i have planned, btw, are just bolt ons... nothing major.. jsut somethin to give me a lil more hp... and gears an t-lok of course

i think the tranny should be ok as long as ur not throwing another 150hp at it like maybe get a shift kit and put a new filter and high quality fluid in it and should be ok i think

u know with new gears a shift kit would be a good idea any how just dont take any open topped drinks into ur stang lol

your tranny will be fine. If you want to beef it up B&M makes a tranny rebuild kit for the AODE to beef it up like 200 bucks I think

So do I. You get that setup with a nice tune for the tranny, and it's shift points and all that. My Lord that would be one awesome auto.

shift kit just make the the shift...1-2-3-4 and so on faster..... i dont know how many gears autos have...but my friends 88 berlenetta camaro is a 305 with an auto and shift kit and its major improvment over the one before it

i see... i think i get it now... it makes tha actual shifting between gears faster.. not when it shifts gears.. correct?
