Seatbelt

ok so i have an 02 mustang and the seatbelts always get all tangled up and wont return. i have flipped them and they just flip and get all messed up again. ik it is a little thing but it really really bugs me and im pretty sure it is a problem on most mustangs cuz my cousin had a similar year and it did the same thing. so if any of you know how to fix this problem or at least make it take longer before they flip back so i dont have to keep flipping it back which is kinda a pain.

Figure out how its supposed to come out of the retractor mechanism and then make sure it comes straight through triangle bracket by twisting it properly...its tough to twist it while its inside the bracket but it can be done. You can also take off the bolt where it connects to the floor so you can twist the end, then bolt it up so its straight.

When I first got mine both sides were twisted like that, I managed to slowly flip the belt but it took me like an hour to get them fixed lol, I was paranoid about breaking the bracket, but they haven't tangled since then

Common problem on mustangs. It's the way the seatbelt is designed, it's designed to have a twist in the belt before your body so that the seatbelt lays flat and not all twisted up on you. Sadly, when it reels back into the mechanism it tends to get caught up and twisted on itself. To fix this, you're probably going to have to take of your trim panel and untwist everything yourself. My mom's 98' mustang and my 01' mustang did the same thing and that's what we had to do to fix it.
