No Trac Off

Hey guys, I'm really starting to get annoyed that my 03 never came with the traction control off button installed I've been told by my friend that the harness/connection to hook up the traction control button is right behind the panel, and I pretty much just need to hook it up, is this true? Or will I need to wire one myself. (I'll pull the panel off myself tomorrow probably, but just wanted to see if its really that easy first)

I'm interested in this as well. So you mean to say, all you have to do is buy the button/install the button on the center console and its good to go? (sounds way to easy)

no it looks like a wheel will lines around it to make it look like a spinning wheel...thats when the traction control is kicking in. also if he has it, it should be a unit in the engine bay that is the traction control unit

I dont think that has anything to do with TC, when I turn my TC off and spin my tires, it still flashes green at me..

Well to test if I have traction control I did a small drift/burnout in an empty parking lot, no abs or green light of any kind ever came on but it felt like the car downshifted to help me gain traction back. How long should it be before the abs/green light comes on? is it instantly or would it pop on after about say 2-3 seconds?

So you can spin your tires? if so theres no TC and no need for a button to turn it off.

Like stated before, if you have no traction control button, then traction control was not an added option on your car. Just like how some cars did not come with abs.

If you really want to find out if you have traction control on, go onto a gravel road, and stomp on the gas. If your car instantly starts to bog down after one second, this means your fuel is being cut, and brakes are being applied... which is your traction control. If your tires spin free it's not on.

I see, so I'll assume that I just don't have traction control at all. still curious as to why my model didn't come with it though, but thanks for explaining it for me
