Tech Issue - Rear Brakes Won't Bleed
Because most mechanics shops charge you up the wazoo I decided to take on the task of replacing my own rear brakes and rotors.
I own a 2002 V6 mustang with an ABS system and traction control. (Found out this makes toying with the brake system a little more complicated) After battling with getting the calipers seated I finally got the brake/caliper assembly back together and ready to move onto bleeding the brake lines. Most of the old brake fluid was flushed out after replacing the rear brakes and rotors. After replacing the bleed valves on the rear I filled up the Master cyclinder and attempted to bleed the rear lines. Nothing absolutely nothing was coming out. So I moved to the front and bleed those lines with absolutely no problem. So I've been reading through my service manual trying to figure out what the problem is and can't seem to make a clear conclusion on the issue. There's troubleshooting options but I don't want to start experimenting and tinkering with the brake line junctions or hoses until I get more info on my situation. I WILL NOT GIVE IN AND TURN MY CAR OVER TO THE AUTO SHOP!! so that I don't have to admit defeat can someone help me out? |

Bleed the master. I think the V6 masters are the same style as the gt and cobra. There should be some bleeder screws on the side of it.

I would also check your line's and hoses they could be blocked in the rear not letting it bleed. also remove one line of the caliper and see if you get brake fluid out of it if you do then you could have a faulty caliper.
