Another Brake Issue / Question

Brakes were squealing so I replaced the pads and calipers in the front, didn't turn or replace the rotors. So now I have a rust ring about 3/4 of an inch thick starting at the inner part of the rotor. After a day of driving 100+ miles the ring is still there like the caliper is not pressing the pad into the rotor to wear this ring off. The ring is just surface rust like what appears after a car wash. Brakes still squeal. Is it possible I have a faulty caliper? If so can u test a caliper in any easy manor?

Thx in advance for any and all advice / suggestions!

Its just on one of the rotors?..does the car pull to the left or right under hard braking?
The chances of it bing a caliper are slim..there is usually other symptoms involved..Its more likely uneven rotor wear from your old pads..you could just live with it, have the rotors turned or just replace them..

Yep, just the RF rotor and car doesn't pull under braking... I never thought of uneven rotor wear from old pads... Possibly that part of the rotor is lower than the rest and will not wear until the pad gets to it. Good call. I'm gonna ride with that. Thanks!

Well that place cant be lower I dont think but the other places my be slightly dished and the pad will have to wear-to-fit the rotor..just give it a while..keep an eye on it! Well on second thought it could be lower than the rest of the rotor, looking back I have seen that before
