hmm...I have no idea. I replaced the fuel filter on mine when I had it and had no problems whatsoever. Have you looked at it again since you put it in to make sure everything is in order?

i would unplug the battery after checking to see the fuel filter installed in right the right direction and leave the battery off for 10 min then restart and see if it help's could been casued by the fuel psi sensor reading a low psi since you replaced the filter.

Its possible that messing with your fuel lines freed up some debirs somewhere and clogged up your fuel pressure regulator..Ive seen it happen once or twice on Crown Vics..just remove the regulator and see if any flakes of debirs were trapped behind it.
May not appy to a 3.8 Essex fuel system though, the 4.6 fuel rail had a pressure regulator the size of a quarter, ours are bigger than that and may not be as senitive to fouling..problems with pressure regulation can cause the car to run too rich or too lean..that will give you a warning light.

Lol well the light went of by itself magically. I still checked somethings out and it was all good. Then this mourning bam light doesnt stay on. Also it could of been the fact the computer was confused because I know the previous owner never changed the fuel filter or really took that much care to the car so yea im going through and changing anything that might need changing odometer is sitting at 65k now ive owned since 41k so besides oil changes I really didnt bother with anything else, but now that im dumping mods into it I thought it would be a good idea to change things out.

that's a great strategy. The more things you replace that are broken, the less things you have to worry about

Call around and see who can "smoke it". The put a smoke machine that will introduce smoke in through the tail pipe under pressure. Wherever there are leaks, it comes out. It works real well and is usually pretty cheap. Much more accurate that Seafoam if you dont want to seafoam.

Haha nothing to worry about, had the same thing happened to me. I pulled the code and it was basically low fuel preasure. All it was, is your sensors detected the low fuel preasure when you draining your fuel lines.

Disconnecting the neg on the battery and hitting the brakes a few times will clear the CEL. There is nothing wrong.
