Bad Headlight Switch....

So for the past couple days I been noticing that my right side headlight has been going out every night and I have to cut it on and off to get it back on,last week both went out and neither would come back on for a few minutes.it seems that the switch sometimes doesn't want to pull out all the way that's why I'm thinking its that..can any1 help??

you know wat u were right, well almost!!i cant believe it but its been torrential raining since last friday and its almost friday again, this morning we got a break from the rain so i decided to pop the hood and disconnect the hids and see what the big deal was,i untaped the ballast from the headlight socket and what do you know,a hugh shyt load of water came pooling out from there, there ya go thats my answer,i blew out the fukin ballast and it suks!i just went to walmart and got sum stock halogen and i dont like it one bit because everybody in my town knows im that boy with them bright ass headlights!!i think instead of just getting a replacement i will get a whole other kit but go down in temp this tiime from 12000k to 6000k and get the matching fogs!i get mine off ebay from "hidking" cause that seller has highy stuff this is my second time gettting hid's from him cuz i had em in my other stang and the 2yrs i had em not one single problem from them, cant beat the 85bucks shipped!!

i got a problem with my headlights. they come on fine with the pull of the switch, but when i go to flick on my high beams, nothing all i have is my corner lights. before i go out and buy new bulbs what do you think i ought to do? i checked the fuses, didn't see any blown. just looking for another opinion. thanks

But really though water and electrical currents don't mix well. Get it all sealed up nice and the wires capped and taped nice when you put new stuff in so it doesn't happen again.

And for the lights going out with the turn of the bright switch... do you have aftermarket headlights?

actually i take that back. i just purchased the car few weeks ago. didn't know anything about HID but looking around the HID bulbs look exactly like the ones in my car. i took them out to check them out the other day. make sure they weren't blown at all or what not. breifly checked the wiring and what not.

when you turn your lights on does it take them a few seconds to get really bright?when you took out the bulb was it really thin with like a pink rod on it?is the bulb plugged up through a little box "ballast",does your lights look like this

no i didn't notice any little pink rod. And it's plugged in just like any other bulb would be. And it does take couple seconds for them to actually get "bright"

i checked all the fuses this time. couldn't find one that was blown. i replaced the high beam one just incase it was such a small blow my eye couldn't see it. nothing. could it be the bulb?

yes it could be the bulb..instead of going to ebay and waiting to solve your problems i would go to walmart and get sum regular 9007 bulbs, two for 10bucks cuz i bought em yesterday and just test em out to see if thats your problem..dont rip the package to bad just use a razor blade to go around the edges and if that dont fix the problem you can take em back!!let us know!

ends up being the bulb. For sure thought it wasn't but it was a cheap fix. Ten bucks for bulbs and two minutes to change them and i can finally see at night time again.
