Water Leak on passenger side of 06

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong...

My 06 V6 randomly started letting in water about a month ago...i took it to the dealership and the replaced what they said was a broken cowell (sp)...yesterday as i was driving throgh OK on my long journey home, I noticed about an 3/4 inches of standing water in the passenger side of the car...possible leak in the seal of the windshield?? I really don't know...

no...it is definitely rain water. I read on another thread that it might be due to a faulty weatherstripping or something...apparently there is a recall...if only the dealership would have informed me of this.. I've also read that it could be a backed-up water drain or something like that under the hood but i couldn't find it based on the info from another thread.

you have that much standing water and you cant see where its coming from? checking for wet spots under the dash or on top you should be able to see a water spot in the right light if its running down your dash or something

Thank you everyone. After two trips to the dealership and $800 lost, I finally found the spot where the water was entering and was able to buy a $5 bottle of sealant and fix it in ten minutes.

its a common problem with the cowl. leaves and debris block up the drainage, and when it rains, the water backs up and comes in under the dash. you can take the cowl off and clean out the leaves. it sucks. it happened to me also
