possible upgrade to v8

a kid at my school, one whom i've started getting to knowing (he's the only other mustang there) is planning on getting his hands on a 03 cobra engine and was willing to sell me his v8 out of a 2000 GT for cheap. i dug up the other article on here about all i would need. So far it seems The engine, tranny probably not (im not 100 percent sure, dont flame, its just what i read), the harnesses, computer, motor mounts and t-lok. Now i dont know if i should actually go out and get an 8.8 rear end or not. will i be fine with a 7.5 for awhile? and about how long (say i had all the parts ready) would a swap like this take?

well your looking at about a 4-5 grand drop then putting in the rear end. If you have that much to spend. 4.2l stroker and a turbo will run you about the same as a used v8 and you'll be putting down much bigger numbers.

engine swaps are pretty stupid . waste of money . and waste of time . but exactly what he said it would do you the same if you just want a v8 just trade in your ride . but its all up to you

i found a thread of a guy who did it and said it's alot cheaper than buying a GT but the amount of time it consumes is definately not worth it. So i think i'll just build the 3.8 up or buy a 4.2 shortblock and put my own heads and internals and manifolds on it and it'll be a whole new beast...then just sell the 3.8.
