need help installing exhaust tip

i just bought an exhaust tip and it came with 2 screws. the problem is i dont know if im suppose to drill holes in the exhaust for the screws. i had thought that the tip just simply slips on and the screws were just to tighten it. but it doesn't seem to be working. and i heard that it was a good idea to weld it. if so where can i get it welded?

if you can id take it back to and get my money back.. you should get some real good tips from like summit racing or something that arent "screw on" so they are actually good looking and functional.. or if you wanna weld it on take it to a muffler shop they should do it for maybe 15bucks

if you want to get it welded then let a pro do it, there's too much electronics that can be screwed up by not grounding properly and the like

if you can the best thing to do is weld...

best thing to do also for looks would be to get 2 jack stands have them sit to and adjust them TO EXACTLY how you want them to look! take a few steps back and look at the car at a few angles...then screw or weld
