No idea lol. But you can get all that for a lot cheaper. The MAC LTs you can get for $329 and you can get a catback system made at a local exhaust shop for anywhere from 200-400. That includes an H pipe.

I would call around your local exhaust shops first. Depending on how much they charge for a dual exhaust system with an H pipe it may be cheaper.

COULD you hook up an O2 tank like nitrous and just inject O2 into your motor allowing the addition of more fuel to make power??

Yes, they call them super/turbo chargers lol. But seriously I have no idea. I would assume if it was pratical then it would have been done by now. IF not then I guess its a race to the first patent lol.

If it has air injection there will be an inlet for it on the front of both exhaust manifolds. There will be a metal tube with a compression fitting there. This is in addition to a connection for the EGR at the back of the right manifold.

i asked the ebay seller and this is what he said about the air injection and about another question i asked

No you do not need extenders all you do is pull some of the wire out of the factory wire loom and it will reach. 2000 stangs have air injection. If you have 2 pipes coming off one headers and one off the other then you have air injection. Other than that if you have one pipe coming off one headers then no you do not have air inj, that is for just you egr. Trust me you will be very pleased and comes with everything you will need and it comes with gaskets and bolts as well. You will need mils to keep the check engine light off but is not a must but we do not sell them. Thanks

I went out to car and see what he is taking about. not sure if thats what its called but...

i looked at one of my stock headers. and there is a tube sticking out the front side that connected to the EGR and there is another tube on the back side that is connected to somthing else.. so i guess i have whatever he is talking about . lol... But yea it would be nice if someone could explain this futher. why some have this and some dont.

yup smog pump or thermoactor. It is used to pump air into the cats to light them off quicker. It is a belt driven pump.

I just found this writeup from someone talking about air injection to.... this is what he said

For vehicles equipped with air injection, or advanced emissions equipment, the following will answer your questions.

If your vehicle has Air Injection, a form of emissions control on some mustangs, then you must order MAC LT headers which are equipped with air injection ports. These headers will have 2 bungs on each header, located on the number 1 and 4 primary tubes. To use your air injection equipment you must have the MAC LT headers designed for use with air injection.

If you have MAC LT headers which do not have air injection bungs, and your vehicle does have air injection, there are 4 options for you.

Option 1: Return the headers and request headers equipped with air injection bungs.
Option 2: Delete the air injection system by removing the smog pump and air injection tubing. <not possible for passing emissions in some states>. This will require a chip or flash of the EEC to disable some emissions features in the EEC system to avoid a CEL <check engine light> from being turned on.
Option 3: Have an exhaust shop or capable shop of the like, custom fabricate air injection bungs onto your LT headers which are not equipped with air injection bungs already.
Option 4: Cap the air injection tubing ports and leave the air injection equipment installed and have a chip or flash that will disable the function of this equipment while leaving it installed.

Now when i go out to my car i see two bungs on the passanger side header that have two tubes .that both connect up into part number f7ue-9j460-aa . But when i go look at the driver side header i only see one bung. connected to the egr.

Most other ford 3.8L engines that were not installed in the mustang got the AIR pump, along with all the 5.0L engines. The 3.8L engine installed in the mustang never had the smog pump installed from the factory, instead a tensioner is in it's place.

What I am guessing happened is the mechanic pulled the codes from the computer and trusted what it said(maybe AIR malfunction) without looking to see if the car is equipped with an AIR pump or not.

The AIR pump was a way to control emissions in the 80's and 90's on most vehicles by injecting fresh air directly into the catalytic converters to supposedly help the "reaction" in the cats. In reality all it does is inject air into the exhaust to displace the emissions produced.

So no, no AIR pump that I know of on the 3.8L engine in the mustang. Of course I could be wrong.

umm.

Some 1999 and 2000 3.8 Mustangs came from the factory with AIR--mostly cars originally intended to be sold new in "green" states and states neighboring "green" states. (California, northeast US, and i don't know where else). It is an electric pump located in the passenger side fender. The easy way to tell if a car has AIR is the extra AIR parts going into the front of the headers, and the extra thing (valve) that is in front of the EGR parts with the tube that kind of curves around the ac compressor

I attached 2 pictures -- one is of my 99 electric green vert's engine bay and one is of my blue 2000 vert's engine bay. both of them had AIR pumps. If I remember right, the green one was originally sold in VA and the blue one in MD. edit: my pic upload failed, I will have to upload them another time. but if you search on my posts there is one about a throttle cable where I posted engine bay pics that also show the AIR parts

The Ford shop manuals mention AIR on 98 3.8 Mustangs, however, I have never seen one and no one has ever mentioned having one on here that I
