do you want an everyday driving application shift kit that is good when manually and automatically shifting or do you want a hardcore street/drag application that gets rid of the automatic feature all together.

go to autozone and get the b&m shifter improvement kit (40 bucks) then go on B&m's site find a shifter for your model stang you like. Get that product number and order that through auto zone at the same time you get the improvement kit and you'll be set.

yeah but with the stock shifter you only have control over 2 gears 3-4 shifts automatically and the B&M shifter will give you better control and even more crisper shifts when manually shifting

I have a trans go kit with my stock shifter. However I am getting a B&m shifter for better control. It was on the car when I got it other wise I would have gone with B&M throughout. My kit is pretty much the shift improvement kit and all the upgraded linkage for the stock shifter since it isn't made to be manually shifted through the gears. All the B&M shifter will do is give you better and safer control and give you upgraded parts as well so you don't hurt your tranny or anything like that when you down shift.

Also if your going to be running at the track a lot I would get a torque converter as well it isn't necessary but it will help alot

the improvement kit will be about 40
the torque converter get 2500 rpm stall 250-350 depending on the application
shifter 200-350 whichever one you think you like.

about 100-200 to install the shift kit and torque converter,

Go to B&M's website and search for the pars I listed and get the part number of the item that fits what you want go to auto zone and and give them the part numbers they can order them for you.

You will notice a huge difference your shifts will be smoother and quicker, you will also be able to shift manually up and down with no problems or lag
